Chickpea Farinata

Ingredients

1 ½ cups garbanzo bean flour 

2 cups water 

1 tsp sea salt 

2 tsp garlic powder (optional) 

1 tbsp olive oil 

Garnish

Parsley 

Dill 

Basil 

Flaky Sea Salt (like Maldon) 

Olive Oil 

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450. 

Whisk garbanzo bean flour, water, sea salt, and garlic together until frothy. You can let this mixture sit for a few hours if you're not ready to bake it right away. 

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a 12-inch skillet. (Preferably cast iron). Pour garbanzo bean batter into the skillet and heat for a few minutes until the sides start to thicken. 

Place the pan in the oven and bake at 450 for 25 minutes until the top is golden. 

Garnish liberally with minced herbs, good quality olive oil, and sea salt. 

This flatbread is the perfect vehicle for any toppings you choose! It’s delicious with hummus, or dips and can even be used to make individual pizzas. 

Makes 1 12” flatbread 

Optional - 1. Add seasonal roasted vegetables on top. 2. Pair with hummus or Lebneh
